Benefits of Nature: How can Nature Help you?
Being out in Nature has many mental and physical benefits. We have researched and experienced some of these first hand and can share with you how to incorporate them into your life.

First we would like to share the mental health benefits of nature. It doesn’t matter if you just had the most chaotic day ever at work, once you step out into nature you can leave all that behind. Spending time in nature can help you to reduce stress. It also decreases anxiety, depression, anger, confusion and fatigue.
A technique that you can do to help your mind and body while in nature is grounding. Grounding (or “earthing” as it’s sometimes known) is a term referring to centring your body as it reconnects with the earth when your bare feet touch the ground. We recommend grounding in open green spaces or grassy paths.
In Japan they practice something called forest bathing, which means bathing in the forest atmosphere, or taking in the forest through our senses. A two-hour forest bath will help you to unplug from technology and slow down. It will bring you into the present moment and de-stress and relax you. What do you hear? What do you see? What can you smell? Be in the moment.

Going on a hike, even a small one, can have numerous benefits to your physical health as well, especially your heart health. Walking can lower your blood pressure and your risk of heart disease.
When you are out hiking, biking,, kayaking, etc. you will build strength throughout your body and add muscle tone to your legs and core. Be mindful of your body’s needs and remember to stretch throughout your activities.
Go out into nature and find your peace, find your balance. Make it a point to schedule time with nature into your daily lives in any capacity. We recommend literally putting it into your planner or calendar. Wellness is waiting!
